Muskegon, MI -- The wait for fall football is officially over as the Orchard View Cardinals have released their 2026 varsity football schedule, and this could be the year the Cardinals make noise again. As the schedule includes new comers, challenges, and rivalries.
Orchard View opens the year on August 27 at home in a key non-conference showdown against the Wyoming Wolves. While it comes outside the conference slate, this matchup could play a major role in playoff positioning later in the season, making Week 1 an important early test for the Cardinals.
West Michigan Conference play begins as Orchard View hits the road in Week 2 for a tough trip to Ludington. The Cardinals will return home in Week 3 to host the Vikings of Whitehall in what is expected to be one of the more physical matchups on the schedule.
Orchard View heads back on the road for consecutive weeks, traveling to face Montague in Week 4 before another difficult conference battle at Hart in Week 5.
The second half of the schedule gives the Cardinal Community plenty of opportunities to pack the stands at Cardinal Stadium, as Orchard View returns home for three straight weeks beginning in Week 6. The Cardinals will host St. Clair High School in a Saturday matchup on October 3before shifting back to Friday nights for Weeks 7 and 8.
Week 7 brings the Fremont Packers to town, while Week 8 features one of the most anticipated matchups of the season as Orchard View hosts the Eagles of Oakridge in the annual “Battle of the Birds.” Rivalry intensity and playoff implications could make the late-season showdown one of the highlights of the year as both schools look to improve on new regional seedings.
The Cardinals will wrap up the 2026 regular season at on the road against the Shelby Tigers, closing out a schedule filled with tough conference battles and important non conference opportunities.
With a balanced mix of home games, road tests, rivalry matchups, and postseason implications throughout the schedule, Orchard View enters 2026 with excitement building around what could be an important season for the Cardinals program.
