MUSKEGON, MI — The Orchard View Cardinals will soon be preparing to take the pitch once again as the 2026 boys soccer season is around the corner. The schedule will feature meaningful conference battles, renewed rivalries, and exciting non-conference matchups.
The season begins on August 19 when Orchard View travels to the Red Hawks of Grand Rapids Union. The opener will serve as the first test of the season and a chance for the Cardinals to establish momentum early.
August will provide several opportunities for fans to see Orchard View in action at home. After hitting the road in the season opener, the Cardinals will host Grand Rapids Wellspring Prep, Black River, and Kent City before conference play begins. The early home-heavy schedule should allow the team to settle into the season while building confidence in front of the home crowd.
The other road trip of the opening month sends the Cardinals to Coopersville, where they will face another quality opponent before turning their focus to conference competition.
Conference play officially begins on August 31 as Orchard View hosts Ludington. The matchup marks the start of what promises to be a competitive conference slate and gives the Cardinals an opportunity to make an early statement.
September will be one of the most demanding stretches of the season. Orchard View will hit the road four times, including challenging trips to Whitehall and North Muskegon. Both programs have traditionally been among the area's strongest teams, making those contests key games for the Cardinals.
When Orchard View returns home, the Cardinal Community will have several chances to support the team in important conference matchups. The Cardinals are scheduled to host divisional opponents Manistee, and Montague. Ravenna, and Shelby although in the West Michigan Conference find their home in the Rivers division, will travel to Orchard View and will carry significance in the conference standings.
As October arrives, attention will turn to one of the most anticipated matches of the year when Orchard View travels to rival Oakridge. Rivalry games always bring extra intensity, and the annual meeting between the Cardinals and Eagles is expected to be no different.
The regular season concludes at home against Newaygo, giving Orchard View one final opportunity to build momentum before postseason play begins.
With a favorable early home schedule, challenging conference road tests, the Cardinals will be tested this fall. The schedule provides plenty of opportunities for growth and success as Orchard View looks for improvement in 2026.
