Cardinals Compete Well at Fremont Cross Country Meet

Fremont, MI -- The Orchard View Cardinals traveled to Fremont Saturday to compete in a cross country meet featuring 16 schools from across the state.


With plenty of competition on the course, the Cardinals put together a solid showing as they continued to build experience early in the season. The boys race featured 62 competitors, while 33 runners took part in the girls race.


For the boys, Javen Steel led the way for Orchard View, completing the race in 21:34 to finish 37th overall. Daniel Heycoop followed with a time of 23:06, placing 42nd in the competitive field.

In the girls race, Lexi Steel represented the Cardinals well, finishing 23rd with a time of 28:19. Steel was the lone Orchard View medalist on the day.

With each race, the Cardinals continue to gain valuable experience and work toward improving their times and finishes as the season moves forward.
