Cardinal Football Looks to Take Another Step Toward Their Goals Friday Night

MUSKEGON — The Orchard View Cardinals return to the Nest Friday night looking to get back in the win column when they host the Whitehall Vikings.

Orchard View enters the matchup at 1-1 after a hard-fought, one-possession loss to Ludington last Friday. The Cardinals will look to turn the page against a Whitehall team still searching for its first victory of the season.

The Vikings come into Friday's game at 0-2, falling to Clare in Week 1 before dropping a Week 2 matchup against Fremont.

For Orchard View, Friday represents an important conference matchup as the Cardinals continue their pursuit of a West Michigan Conference championship and an MHSAA playoff berth. With the conference schedule underway, each win becomes increasingly important.

A Familiar Opponent

Whitehall is no stranger to the Cardinals, but Orchard View has yet to come away with a victory against the Vikings since joining the West Michigan Conference.

That streak will be on the minds of the Cardinals when they take the field Friday night.

Orchard View has already shown it can compete against strong competition this season, and after coming up just short against Ludington, the Cardinals will have the opportunity to respond in front of their home crowd.

A victory would even Orchard View's record at 2-2 and give the Cardinals some important momentum heading into the remainder of the conference schedule.

Friday night brings the Cardinals back home, where they'll look to feed off the energy of their fans while taking care of business against a Whitehall team hungry for its first win.
