Football: Cardinals Head North Looking to Rebound Against Hart

MUSKEGON, MI -- The Orchard View Cardinals head north Friday night looking to get their season back on track when they take on the Hart Pirates.

Orchard View enters the matchup 2-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play following last week’s rain-soaked loss to Montague. Hart comes into the game with the same 2-2 overall record and is also 1-2 in the conference.

The matchup carries some familiarity, as Hart is led by former Orchard View head coach Joe Tanis. The Pirates are coming off a difficult week of their own after Oakridge handed Hart a shutout loss, leaving the Pirates looking to respond on their home field.

Historically, the series has been a close one, with Hart holding a 2-1 advantage over Orchard View in the three meetings between the programs.

For the Cardinals, Friday presents an opportunity to put last week's loss behind them and reestablish the identity that helped them open the season with two wins. Orchard View will need to execute, limit mistakes and maintain its composure against a Hart team that will be looking to bounce back as well.

At 2-2, the Cardinals still have plenty of football ahead of them, but conference play is becoming increasingly important. A strong performance against Hart would give Orchard View an opportunity to regain momentum and continue establishing itself as a program capable of competing with the conference's top teams.

Standing across the field will be a familiar face in Tanis, whose Pirates will be looking to protect their home field and even further strengthen their edge in the series.
