Stingle, Ortega, Johnson and Brengel Recognized for Their Impact on Orchard View Soccer

Muskegon, MI -- Four members of the Orchard View Cardinals boys soccer team have earned West Michigan Conference All-Conference recognition, highlighting the individual contributions behind a season of growth, resilience and late-season momentum.

Juniors Bryson Stingle and Keegan Brengel, along with seniors Nito Ortega and Wyatt Johnson, were recognized for their performances during the 2026 campaign.

With a 7-6-4 record heading into district play, Orchard View has found its rhythm at an important point in the season. From establishing stability on the back line to providing production in the attacking third and finding consistency in goal, these four Cardinals have played significant roles in the team's progress.

Bryson Stingle — Bringing Stability to the Back Line

Stingle has been a cornerstone of Orchard View's defense, helping establish stability for a young defensive unit and goalkeeper. Head coach Chris Belasco credited the junior with bringing composure, confidence and communication to the back line, qualities that have helped the Cardinals become more organized defensively.

That leadership has translated into results. Over the team's last seven games, Orchard View has recorded five shutouts, demonstrating the defensive unit's ability to limit opponents' scoring opportunities.

Stingle's influence extends beyond individual defensive plays. His ability to communicate and maintain composure has helped provide a foundation for a young group as the Cardinals have worked through the season.

Nito Ortega — Senior Leadership in the Attack

Ortega has been one of the senior leaders driving Orchard View's offensive attack. Belasco identified Ortega and Johnson as the team's senior offensive leaders, relying on their experience and production to help create scoring opportunities.

Ortega has contributed four goals and two assists this season, combining his ability to find the net with his work setting up teammates.

As the Cardinals enter postseason play, Ortega's senior leadership and offensive contributions give Orchard View an experienced presence to lean on when the pressure rises.

Wyatt Johnson — Producing in the Final Third

Johnson has also delivered offensively for the Cardinals, recording five goals and four assists this season.

His nine combined goals and assists reflect his ability to contribute both as a scorer and as a playmaker. Alongside Ortega, the senior gives Orchard View an experienced leader who can help generate attacking opportunities and put pressure on opposing defenses.

With the postseason underway, the Cardinals will look to Johnson's offensive production and senior presence to help turn scoring opportunities into results. His ability to contribute directly to goals makes him an important part of Orchard View's hopes of advancing through district play.

Keegan Brengel — Taking Ownership in Goal

Brengel's season has included stepping into a full-time goalkeeper role, and Belasco said the junior has embraced the opportunity and made the position his own.

The results over the Cardinals' last five games have been impressive. Orchard View has gone 4-1 during that stretch, allowing just two goals while recording four shutouts.

Those numbers reflect both Brengel's performances and the work of the defensive unit in front of him. Together, they have helped Orchard View build confidence and consistency at a crucial point in the season.

As the Cardinals prepare for the challenges of tournament soccer, Brengel's recent form gives the team an important presence in goal. His ability to make saves, organize the defense and help keep opponents off the scoreboard will be vital to Orchard View's postseason hopes.

Individual Honors, One Team Mission

The four All-Conference selections represent different but equally important pieces of Orchard View's success. Stingle has helped bring composure and communication to the defense, Ortega and Johnson have led the offensive attack, and Brengel has stepped up to establish himself in goal.

Their recognition comes at an important time for the Cardinals, who believe they are playing some of their best soccer as the postseason begins.

Orchard View opens district play at home against Manistee, looking to repeat the 2-0 result from the teams' September 23 meeting. With the season on the line, the Cardinals will rely on the leadership, experience and contributions of these four players as they pursue a district championship.

Congratulations to Bryson Stingle, Nito Ortega, Wyatt Johnson and Keegan Brengel on earning West Michigan Conference All-Conference honors!
