MUSKEGON, Mich — Success in football isn't built under the Friday night lights alone. It's forged in the weight room, on hot summer afternoons, and through countless repetitions that often go unnoticed.

Last week, Orchard View's offensive and defensive linemen put that work on display at the Annual Mona Shores Football Lineman Challenge. While the event tested strength, power, and athleticism, it also showcased the determination that continues to define this year's Cardinal squad.

Leading the way was Jordan Vasquez, who claimed first place in the bench press competition after powering through 31 repetitions of 185 pounds. The performance highlighted not only his physical strength but also the dedication he's invested throughout the offseason.

The Cardinals also found success in one of the day's most exciting events, the tire toss. Aa'mir Greer earned a tie for second place, demonstrating the explosive power and athleticism that linemen develop through months of training.

While individual honors are certainly worth celebrating, the day represented something bigger for Orchard View.


The lineman challenge gave the Cardinals an opportunity to compete, measure their progress against other talented programs, and continue building confidence as the season approaches. Events like these remind everyone that championship teams are built from the inside out, with the men in the trenches setting the tone.
