The Cardinals dropped both of their best-of-three matches, falling to Godwin Heights in two sets, 17-25 and 11-25, before dropping a pair to Zion Christian, 10-25 and 4-25.
Cardinals vs. Godwin Heights
Orchard View showed flashes of competitiveness against Godwin Heights, with several Cardinals making contributions throughout the match.
Ava Dood led the Cardinals from the service line, scoring four points and recording an ace. Haylee Doty also recorded an ace, while Doty and Breylin Bruesch led the Cardinals offensively with two kills apiece.
Jasmine Bell helped direct the offense with six assists, while Dood was a force defensively, recording a team-high 12 digs as the Cardinals worked to keep rallies alive.
Despite the defensive effort, Orchard View struggled to consistently generate offense and fell 25-17 in the opening set before Godwin Heights closed out the match with a 25-11 second-set victory.
Cardinals vs. Zion Christian
The Cardinals faced another difficult challenge against Zion Christian, dropping the match in straight sets, 10-25 and 4-25.
Dood once again led the defensive effort, collecting six digs as Orchard View worked to keep the ball in play.
The Cardinals struggled to find a rhythm offensively, with Haylee Doty recording Orchard View's lone kill. Much of the Cardinals' scoring came through side-outs as Zion Christian was able to control long stretches of play.
While the results weren't what the Cardinals were looking for, the tri-match provided another opportunity for Orchard View's young roster to gain experience and continue developing as the season moves forward.
Orchard View will look to take what they learned from the night and carry it into Whitehall on Thursday.
